4. Can-Making- The recycled aluminium sheets are fed through a machine called a 'cupping press', which stamps out thousands of shallow cups that form the basic shape of the can. These are then trimmed and cleaned, ready to be printed with designs.
5. Filling- The cans are thoroughly cleaned with high-pressure air and water. During this process, the air inside the can is replaced with carbon dioxide (CO2), and the can is filled with its liquid contents.
6. Selling- The final step in the process is delivering the filled cans to retailers, where they are ready for purchase. Once consumed, the cans can be recycled all over again, continuing the loop.
This is how aluminium cans go from being used to being recycled, and back on the shelves as new cans, ready for another round.
